One of the things we offer, are what we call "Sea Creature Features". They are small events where we sink lights underwater at night to reveal a fascinating world below. Help trained naturalists catch, identify, and release a wide variety of creatures. They're mostly held in the south Puget Sound area.
"Gooseberries" are one of the types of creatures that we see at our events. Pleurobrachia bachei are a type of ctenophore, similar to the rarely seen comb jelly.
An exciting moment to see! An opalescent squid gets snatched by a seal and inks. This was at one of our events near Olympia.
Clytia, a small species of hydrozoan, is often referred to as the "Gregarious Jellyfish." We see hundreds of them at times.
